Ah, the infamous "Dashboard Glitch". A lot of people have requested it so I am giving you the skinny. It has been around for ages, but here it is for those who want to know. Zombie - fest Left 4 Dead has a glitch that allows you to complete a mission on Expert without the need to complete the entire mission. The game  has been patched but, the glitch still works apparently. As always, I am only giving you the knowledge for informational purposes. It is up to you and your God, if you want to cheat...

So you wanna cheat then? Check it below.
 
The aim of this glitch is to complete the mission on Expert without the need to play the entire mission. The trick requires two people, but you can do it with four. PLEASE NOTE that the host will not receive credits for beating the mission on Expert.
 
  1. Have the host sign into Left 4 Dead, however ALL the other players must have their disc trays open, with the disc in the tray.
  2. Have the host start up the finale of the level you want to beat on Expert. When the game starts, stay in the safe room with the door shut.
  3. While in the safe room, send an invite to all the players who want the achievement.
  4. All the players have to accept the invite. Once the message asks to put in the Left 4 Dead disc, close the tray.
  5. When all players join, they should immediately take control of any survivors.
  6. Complete the finale on Expert and all the players joined will get credit for beating the entire mission.

Well you dont have to have the disc tray open. You only have to have each player beside the host be at the dashboard, then theh host can leave the game after everyone else has joined, go to dashboard and then they can be invited and everyone can get the achivevements.

LOL. You NEVER need to open the disc tray for any achievement glitch. (except when you are flashing your 360)

Pretty sure the tip by Tior Fett abt the host getting the achievement too doesn't. Maybe it was has to be with a team of 3+ and not just two people but still. Don't include in ur walkthrough just yet Slam.

Nope... as long as the host invites everyone from dashboard and chills in the safe room until everyone is present and accounted for, everyone (including the host) gets the achievements. I just went through and got 'Untouchables' with a friend (just the two of us and the AIs) with me hosting, and the 'Stomach Upset' and 'Nothing Special' with a full party, again as me hosting. Doesn't matter the party size, just make sure everyone is fully there before you open the door!

the only reason id care to do it (and soon will) is becouse my L4D 360 achievements for "What Are You Trying to Prove?" glitched on me and didnt register after a few hours worth of hard work on blood harvest... everyone gets teh achievement except me T_T so this will definatly come in handy when i re attempt it

Hey Wizbey, this is a tip for helping people to complete left 4 dead the easy way, due to a glitch. So why reccomend completing it legit when you dont have to?

It is not easy completing it legit, i have tried and tried and failed numerous times.

If you are not into glitching then dont reply to the thread? im tired of people running around critisizing people for gamerscore or glitching.

I agree how Gamerscore has ruined gaming, i used to play just for fun aswell until this was introduced but i despise people who go round picking at people because they play to get a gamerscore aswell as have fun, the same goes for people who type 'Glitches' into goog;e just so they can make a post of 'why not just get it legit'.

i totaly agree with u noodles i play fr game score aswell and i do glitches to get all the achievements, i once playd this game n their was another guy well he was a kid n was goin mental cos i used the glitch n he went the long way n died i thought it was p**s funny myself lol

Since the update the dashboard glitch is not working anymore, they have also sorted out the dead air campaign that gets you on top of the plane.

Um im pretty sure thats a blatent lie i recently got nothing special achievement very rececntly with this exact glitch

Versus mode actually counts as a Campaign, believe it or not. It's possible to do it -along with other campaign achievements- in Versus mode.

The untouchables glitch still works (same as this one but u start on finale get to the radio press it let him finish talking then invite ure friend when they get a big grey box you quickly have to click the radio the second time then when they connect aslong as they dont die they get the achievement)

You can still get this to work with two un-patched, system-linked 360's ;)


...just like I plan on doing this weekend :P I've earnt a legit 885 points... time to finish this sucker off.
