Movie tie-ins are always a good source of easy points. Except this one looks hard. I am serious. Just check out the jumps and achievements. How are I am supposed to collect 1000 cheeses? They look like they are in really awkward and almost impossible places. Get an "A" ranking in a chapter I suppose involves collecting all the cheeses? Get away. What is wrong with kids games these days? I am staying well clear of this one as I can see booking myself back into anger management with a broken controller.
I was going to do a poll, but then every other website does that. We all get the same winners. GTA IV, Dead Space, Fallout 3 et al. There would be no title that would truly stand out. As this is an achievement gaining site, should not our Game Of The Yearreflect the business of gaining achievements? Therefore I have picked a title based on not just achievements, but on the minefield it created. Some of you maybe surprised or even shocked at my selection, but there are VALID reasons.
I can only remember one title that truly made me speechless when I first saw it. A title that marked a watershed transition in our beloved Xbox 360 console and the direction it was heading. It also became a test to any achievement addict. At what cost do we start playing purely for points with disregard to our reputation? How low would we go? Yes, this ALL came out of one title. One title, that below it's innocent gameplay held more debate since Avatar : The Burning Earth on achievement hunting. Controversial choice? Maybe, but please comment below or leave your suggestion.
There was a time, like last week, when Samuel L Jackson was in everything. Good or bad he was in it. So it comes to no surprise he turns up in a video game. By the looks of it, not a bad game either as Afro Samurai has a very furturistic comic animation feel to it. Well it should, seeing that it was based on the very popular anime series Afro Samurai, with the voice of Samuel L Jackson. Now I really don't know the story, but I bet it is revenge. ALL Samurai stories are. Have you ever known any not to be a revenge plot of some sort? Me, neither.
Fiddy achievements are in and they look easy. Extra bonus that the game can be played co-op. So get friendly with your 10 year old kid brother and his friends, because I seriously can't see anyone buying this, except 10 year old wannabe gangstaz. Fiddy (or two quarters to his friends) is hunting a diamond encrusted skull in the Middle East and banging headz of terrorists. LOL or ROFL or even LMFAO all you want, but I am serious. (Click here if you haven't a clue what LOL is)
When I first saw this, I thought of actual pen and paper type crossword puzzles. The type you do when taking the browns to the superbowl (or taking a dump). What uber easy points this would be? Protip : dictionary. But no, it's not. It's the game show. Screw that. Don't want to know about it now. When is Scrabble coming?
Thanks X3F for the video.
Merv Griffin's Xwords is out now on XBLA (US only)
There are Veteran glitches on Call of Duty : World at War. Not that is remarkable in itself, except there are two that apparently let you unlock Veteran achievements while playing on Recruit. Before I begin explaining these glitches, there are two important points, that have to be stressed. I personally have not been able to do them, although they have been verified through a number of sources to work. Secondly, I am only listing these glitches for informational purposes and the choice is entirely up to you to try them...
If there were ever a genre that oozed serious gameplay, then "Super Ninja's" could be one of them. Stick a few demons and dragons in as enemies, and your done. Ninja Blade looks remarkably like some other game, except the name escapes me. Ninja something. As a friend pointed out, Ninja Blade literally translates to "soldier gun" so I am guessing that marketing knew this, but wanted to rip off another game, which I still am failing to think of, so they went ahead anyway. Would I get this? Probably not. It looks very similar to that other game, which was insanely hard, almost a clone to, what-it's-name? Ninja Maiden! That's right. Would have bothered me all day trying to remember that.
