There are Veteran glitches on Call of Duty : World at War. Not that is remarkable in itself, except there are two that apparently let you unlock Veteran achievements while playing on Recruit. Before I begin explaining these glitches, there are two important points, that have to be stressed. I personally have not been able to do them, although they have been verified through a number of sources to work. Secondly, I am only listing these glitches for informational purposes and the choice is entirely up to you to try them...

Occasionally you get glitches that work for some and but not for others. Unfortunately this is one of them. This kind of glitching relies heavily on circumstantial data and right conditions for it to occur. The trick lies in the time of ejecting the disc apparently so please read carefully.

Glitch One :

  1. Go to Mission Select and select a mission on Veteran.
  2. After the first checkpoint, save & quit.
  3. Go back to Mission Select and choose the SAME mission, however change the difficuty to Recruit.
  4. While the level is loading, you will see a white bar at the bottom of your screen. When the bar reaches around about 33%, eject the disc or return to the Xbox Live  Dashboard.
  5. Reload the game and select Resume. 
  6. You should now be playing the level on Veteran with Recruit AI.
Please note on step 4, some people have suggested that the white bar be loaded up fully before ejecting the disc for it to work. 
 
Glitch Two :
  1. Go to Mission Select and select a mission on Veteran.
  2. After the first checkpoint, save & quit.
  3. Go start a private co-op campaign mission and select the same mission and difficulty on Recruit. Invite a friend and play the entire mission then quit.
  4. Go back to the main menu, Solo and select Resume.
  5. You should now be playing the level on Veteran with Recruit AI.
It has been suggested on various forums that Recruit on both of these glitches is not exactly 100% Recruit. There are still the same amount of grenades raining down and you still die just as fast, but the AI seem to be easier to shoot. Well if that is the case, then these players may have been playing Veteran all along and duped into thinking they are playing Recruit. But hey, if that works, then knock yourself out.

The first 3 levels are pretty EASY on veteran anyway, i want to hear about it working on the later HARDER levels!!!!

Ok I will get you one as soon as I can, when I did the glicth the first time on zee first level i ran around knifing...and you can tell by how many shots you take before you die if its easy or vet.

The last 2 levels are almost impossible, Even with the glitch,Ive been on Heart of the Reich for like 3 hours.

Me wonders why you clicked "Easy Veteran" and not leave your name? If we are cheating ourselves, but not taking enjoyment away from anybody else, then last time i checked, it is a free country.

tbh for me the glitch does and does'nt work it does make the AI more dumber but it still takes 2 bullets to get killed.

i completed the last mission on veteran and it took me bout 2 hours 2 do! i then tried this glitch on burn em out and i cant even get passed the first checkpoint! i think sum1 is telling porkie pies!!!

Been trying this glitch on "Relentless" for the passed 2 hours with no luck. Even took scotch tape and taped exactly 30% of load bar on my tv after frustration kicked in. Can someone please post a video of this??

i did the glitch on the levels blowtorch and corkscrew, heirt of the reich, and downfall and it works you can tell when the glitch works because when you are running around you notice that the computers are much more stupider they take much longer before they relize that they have to shoot you even if they shoot you they do the same amount of damage you have to be carful still but you can gain cover further up the line faster. I believe it makes the al veteran into Recruit al but there are some issues the two that i came across where as they were recruit al they spray there guns when they enter battle which can lead to close counter maulage and other thing was that they have not appeared to have lost there power of always chuckin grenades and landin pretty close (enough to do serious damage). But when i try it on vendetta the sniper in the buildin was godly to say the least

i agree with you it doesn't take long to beat it on veteran cod 4 and 5 were probably the easiiest to beat on veteran but if there were a glitch like this on cod 2 and 3 maybe i would use it on those games;but i did try the glitch on another account just to see if it actually worked Gamerscore:53415

I USED THIS GLITCH TO GET A COUPLE OF VERTERAN ACHIEVEMENTS AND WHEN I GOT HEART OF REICH WITH IT, SOME HOW THIS GLITCH DOESNT SEEM TO WORK ON HEART OF REICH OR SO IT SEEMS. THE FIRST ONE IS THE EASIEST AND IT ACTUALLY MADE A SLIGHT DIFFERENCE NOT ENOUGH TO MAKE IT TOO EASY FOR VETERAN

i already had 6 of the missions done on veteran, i tried this glitch and first time i believe it worked, i completed blood and iron in about 3-4 minutes rofl nice n easy 30 g :) but then i tried it on relentless, and it didntg work at all, i also tried it on their land their blood and it wouldnt work their either :( i cant get it to work now :(

I had all but two missions done veteran when I found this. I got it to work on blowtorch and corkscrew. I tried a few times on heart of the reich but could not get it. I will keep trying.

The first method definitely works. The grenades are the same and you can die with a couple bullets but the enemies aiming is just like on recruit. I've tried veteran mode for at least an hour on the first level and could not make it to the first checkpoint. With this method I beat it first try with no deaths. For those who couldn't get it to work I have heard to make sure you are offline when doing the first method. I use this method while disconnected and it has worked for the first four levels so far.

I have tried this with every possible stage of loading and as far as I am concerned, this glitch does not work at all. I have achieved levels trying this way and the normal veteran mode and they are the same. You still get killed as quick, there are still as many grenades and it is still as hard to kill the enemy. There are many glitches in this game, but trust me, this isn't one of them. Don't fool yourself, just get your achievement the normal way on veteran, because you are going to work the same for it anyway.

It does work but it just makes the enemys a little dumber they can still hock grenades on you though

I have only tried the first glitch and it does work. However many of you people dont realize what it is. It only changes the ai, they still shoot and kill you rapidly based on veteran presets. You cannot run out into the open and expect to live. Also the glitch has to be reapplied every level. It will not carry over and stay on recruit ai after the completion of a level. All levels work though for the first glitch. The 33% bar is not exact. As long as you eject game or go to dashboard after about a third of bar is lit, the glitch will take affect.

I don't understand how it's easy veteran. Do you die just as fast or is it harder to die? Is it identical to recruit or is it just veteran difficulty with stupider AI? Has anyone used it with considerable differences? If so please do tell.

uh im not sure how i did it but on the last mission "Downfall" i used the first glitch and got the Vet AI but recruit health. if someone figures it out message me my username is earagon214 lol.

my live is down and decided to get some achievments in today and found this glitch posted so decided to check it out since i only had two more missions to do on veteran...I followed the exact intructions given and it worked for the 2nd to last mission which is the one i needed it most on...however, when i went to do downfall..i did the exact same thing and it didn't work...so bottom line is that this glitch i guess only wants to show up when in wants to...its not going to work for everyone and not going to work for every map

I dont know if anyone else has already posted this yet, if they have I am sorry, but there is a typo in your guide. Call of Duty: World at War is in no way COD5 it is merely a end to COD 1-3. It should be amusing though when ever they do decide to come out with an actual Call of Duty labeled number 5, but im sure everyone here has already thought ahead of that...right, didnt think so.

I was skeptical about it, because I tried it a bunch of times without knowing what to look for, but I can confirm that it works still. A started up the glitch on whatever is before Blood & Iron beat it, got the achievement, but when I went onto Blood & Iron, it had reverted to Recruit, no achievement for me!

So yeah, anyway, makes sure Live is disconnected and be ready to die a lot, same health, same grenades, stupid enemies you can run up to and knife when you need to reload.

I needed this for 'Heart Of The Reich' and 'Downfall' - Probably the 2 hardest CoD missions ever. Worked perfectly fine for the 'HOTR' - tried immediatly after for 'Downfall' - didn't work so I turned off the Xbox and started it all again - still didn't work.

Looks like this glitch dosen't work for 'Downfall' I'm afraid.

hi,
for those where it´s working... were the xbox ever connected to xbox live? when you ever played online there were already two updates. so i´don´t know if they already fixed that or if it is still working with the updated version.

would a xbox never be connected better to achjieve this glitch?

Veteran just takes patience...LOTS of patience. The amount of time you spend stuffing around tying to get this "glitch" to work, you could be at your first or second checkpoint of the level. The first checkpoint is the worst, and then the levels get easier, I swear!

THE A.I IS ON RECRUIT! THE DAMAGE IS THE SAME, HOWEVER, AS VETERAN! THEY WONT HIT YOU AS MUCH AND THEY TAKE LONGER TO SHOOT, BUT YOU CAN DIE VERY FAST. THERE IS ALSO LESS GRENADES, BUT STILL SOME!
ok, had to clear that up. also, i can;t get it to work on relentless like that other guy, i wonder if it just doesn't work there.

Why would u need 2 glitch i got 1500g for this game & it wasnt that difficult, the 2nd last missions is ann otying and part of the last 1 but it can be done simply, but im just used 2 it after the 1000g in cod4, modern warfare 2 will be just as easy

im stuck on relentless the bit where the tank comes and flames most of them and it took me an hour to get there on vetarin and i want to make sure this works on relentless dose it work 4 relentless?
