This is my first guide so…yeah. Call of Duty : World at War is a easy 500 Gamerscore which can be obtained in a few hours. Playing it on Recruit is the best way to finish the Campaign and get those easy achievements for completing the missions. I did actually get 650 points on the first day I had, but hey, I'm just a COD NERD!! 

Everyone also knows that playing it on Veteran is extremely difficult, you have to move every 5 seconds since grenades are all over you! Lucky for me and all of you, there is a Veteran glitch, that works for me at least, hehe.

In every game there is a Collectible Achievement, Call of Duty 4 has Intel items, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed has many Jedi Holocrons. There are 13 Death Cards in Call of Duty World at War, I will fill you in on how to obtain those.  Just watch the YouTube  guide on how to obtain them.

Veteran Glitch : Please read it here or read this. Thanks to the glitch, I have nearly finished Veteran with a breeze!

Ok, also I just got my 1000/1000 for COD 5. On some missions the Veteran glitch will not work with DISC EJECT. Try exiting to the Dashboard, it worked for me! Go to Mission Select and select a mission on Veteran.

1. After the First Checkpoint, Save and Quit.
2. Go back to Mission Select and choose the SAME Mission but on Recruit, When you load you will see a white bar at the bottom of the screen, when that reaches about 25-33%, eject the Disk.
3. Reload the Game and Select Resume. 
4. You should be now playing the level on Veteran and it is much easier.

To check if it worked, go on a rampage. If you die within seconds, it failed! If not, then you should be able to finish the mission and get the Veteran Achievement. Take note that you have to do the glitch again after each mission.

Carlson's Raiders - 10 points

Establish a beachhead on the island of Peleliu on any difficulty. (Solo only)

The Last Stand - 20 points

Survive the land and air conflict surrounding Okinawa on any difficulty. (Solo only)

Stabbed in the Heart - 20 points

Complete all missions on the Eastern Front on any difficulty setting. (Solo only)

This achievement is over a series of missions, Just play through the campaign to unlock all of the Achievements similar to this one.
 

Get Your Hands Dirty - 30 points

Complete 'Semper Fi' on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Saved Private Ryan - 10 points

Save the soldier before he burns to death. (Solo or co-op)

On Semper Fi – As you go through the first part, you will reach a ramp which leads up to a burning hut. Go up as fast as you can. Private Ryan will be in front of you, a Japanese soldier on fire bursts out of the door and wrestles with PVT. Ryan. Quickly shoot the Japanese soldier and PVT. Ryan will dust himself off and the achievement will pop up.
 

Bloody Peleliu - 30 points

Complete 'Little Resistance' on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

HINT: At the start of this mission, you have to bomb the beach head. After that go to the far right of the beach and you will find a hole filled with water. Jump in it, continue left of the beach until you find another water filled hole. Its not far and it is small. Keep going a few steps and there is a hole with no water in it, jump in. Then continue left and closer to the water and there will be another big hole with water in it, jump in it and wait a few seconds. Soon, the screen will shake and a deep voice will play, 4 Japanese Tiger statues rise from the ground. Inside their mouths are Ray Guns – pick one up. This is the best gun in the game - A 1 hit kill, Use it wisely! You only got 180 shots! -.-

Weapon of Mass Destruction - 15 points

Radio in a naval bombardment that kills at least 4 Japanese soldiers. (Solo or co-op)

The perfect place to unlock this is on ‘Little Resistance’. When you clear out the fortress near the end, you will be told to man the MG, There are a ton of Japanese men you are supposed to gun down. Instead call a air strike on them and you will easily unlock the achievement. This is just before you have to call air strikes on the tanks.

The Sword Is Broken - 30 points

Complete 'Hard Landing' on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

No Safe Place - 15 points

Burn an enemy out of a tree with the flamethrower in 'Hard Landing' (Solo or co-op)

This is easy to obtain – shortly after you pick up the flamethrower, you will reach a wide spread field of grass with a road down the middle. Banzai attackers will pop out of the grass and attack you. Just run past and burn the palm trees. There should be a Japanese Sniper in there.

Architect - 30 points

Complete 'Vendetta' on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

The Professional - 15 points

Shoot all of Amsel's henchmen, including their attack dog, without reloading. (Solo only)

Ok, this can be hard if you’re a bad aim or your just crap at sniping. But it is possible. This is the part when you first meet SGT. Resnov. He hands you his sniper rifle since his hand is screwed. When the bombers fly over you, then you take your shots. The thing is to try shoot 2 guards at once, since they are close together, Once you’ve done that, another guard will come out with his dog, he leans over to check the dead body, You should be able to shoot the guy in his ass and hit the dog in the head at the same time, Good Luck.

Gunslinger - 15 points

Assassinate General Amsel with a pistol shot. (Solo only)

Ok, I personally think this is the hardest achievement to get. It is very hard and may take a few tries. But with a guide, it is possible. Just sit to your T.V as close as possible, because you need a good eye for this. You don’t get a pistol in the mission, You have to find it. Play through Vendetta until you and SGT. Resnov come to the place where you are trying to get sniped by a Nazis.

Jump through the window and go upstairs with Resnov. Go up to the table and you will find a Walther pistol. Now search to the back of the room to get more ammo. Continue on through the mission, You will eventually find a PTRS Sniper, DO NOT PICK IT UP!!!. The Mosin Nagant is Vital! When you get to the part when you have to snipe Amsel , don’t shoot him, Just take out his snipers as they shoot you and mess up your shot. Watch the road to the far right, an armored car drives down. Then a lorry. Shoot the lorry 3 or 4 times with the Nagant. If you shoot too many times it will explode. When it stops Amsel will jump in a car. Shoot the driver fast! Then whip out your Walther. Shoot the lorry a couple of times and the lorry will explode, blowing Amsel to pieces.

The Hammer Strikes - 30 points

Complete 'Their Land, Their Blood' on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Scorched Earth - 30 points

Complete 'Burn`em Out' on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Firestarter - 15 points

Complete a mission using only the flamethrower. Melee, grenades & explosives are OK. (Solo or co-op)

As you may have already guessed the best mission to do this on is Burn `em Out, This is pretty much full on close range and the flamethrower is a starting weapon. Just don’t shoot any bullets.

Fearless - 30 points

Complete 'Relentless' on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Hell on Wheels - 30 points

Complete 'Blood and Iron' on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Iron Fist - 15 points

Destroy all towers and bunkers in 'Blood and Iron'. (Solo or co-op)

Just shoot down all of the towers and the bunkers take a few shots to blow up. Also, check on the hills. Some bunkers are hidden up high.

No Return - 30 points

Complete 'Ring of Steel' on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Ruthless - 15 points

Kill 15 enemies while mounted on a tank in 'Ring of Steel'. (Solo or co-op)

At the end of the mission, when you get out of the Asylum, there are two tanks . You will be able to mount the machine gun on one of them. Do so, THEN START FIRING!!

When It Rains, It Pours - 30 points

Complete 'Eviction' on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Shot in the Dark - 10 points

Kill 10 enemies while the lights are out in the subway in 'Eviction'. (Solo or co-op)

This is really easy, when the lights go out. You can still see them clearly, but they cant see you. It's amazing!

One Bad Gato - 30 points

Complete 'Black Cats' on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

The Sum of All Zeros - 15 points

Down 45 Japanese Zeros in 'Black Cats'. (Solo only)

This is much easier if you don’t bother to rescue any of the survivors. Just concentrate on blowing them out of the sky.
 

Lights Out! - 10 points

In 'Black Cats', blast out all of the spot lights in the Japanese cargo convoy. (Solo only)

This is rather easy. There should be two spotlights on each boat, one at the front and one at the back.

Blowtorch & Corkscrew - 30 points

Complete 'Blowtorch & Corkscrew' on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Setting of the Sun - 30 points

Complete 'Breaking Point' on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Mortar-dom - 10 points

Kill 8 Japanese with thrown mortars in 'Breaking Point'. (Solo or co-op)

HINT: Try and throw the mortars into the bunkers, MG buildings or a door or passage. Soldiers might come out. This is not over one mortar, you can throw as many as you want.

Guardian Angel - 10 points

In the final battle for Okinawa, save Sergeant Roebuck. (Solo or co-op)

Just before you have to call in air strikes on the Japanese buildings, you find three Japanese soldiers who surrender. Roebuck states “Polonsky! Search `em!”, Once Polonsky and Roebuck get down there, the Japanese soldiers retaliate and wrestle Roebuck and Polonsky. You have about 5 seconds to save Roebuck or Polonsky. Save Roebuck, you get the achievement. Save Polonsky. You don’t get sh*t.
 

For the Motherland - 30 points

Complete 'Heart of the Reich' on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Bearing the Burden - 30 points

Complete 'Downfall' on Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Rough Economy - 15 points

Kill 3 enemies with a single bullet. (Solo or co-op)

This achievement is easy to get. I suggest you do it on Nazi Zombies , Nacht der Untoten. Try and get a sniper rifle, preferably the PTRS.  But you can use the Kar98k or Springfield as well. It helps with Insta-Kill. Let the Zombies break through the barrier if there are at least three coming from one window. They usually stay in one line for you to kill them.

Close Shave - 10 points

Survive a Banzai attack. (Solo only)

This achievement is easy to obtain, Go to a mission with Banzai attackers. Little Resistance is good. Let the Banzai’s get you on the ground then, with your “ cat like reflexes” you rapidly press down on the Right Thumb Stick. The Japanese soldier will go to stab you, but you push the bayonet out of the way and knife him in the throat. Tossing him aside you recover and unlock the achievement.

Snake in the Grass - 15 points

Take out a Japanese soldier while he is lying in wait in the grass. (Solo or co-op)

This is easy if you know where they hide. Just play through a mission, Little Resistance is good, until you reach some Banzai attackers. Let them kill you. After re-spawning, don’t run into them. Just call an air strike or cook a grenade on them.
 

Grave Robber - 15 points

Collect all Death Cards in the game. (Solo only)

Kamikaze - 15 points

Complete any level on Regular difficulty or higher using only melee and grenades. (Solo only)

This is easy , Just do this one on Burn `em Out!
 

Throw a Six and a Half - 15 points

On Hardened or Veteran difficulty, complete a level without dying. (Solo only)

Purple Heart - 5 points

When staring into the face of adversity, show courage and persevere.

This really isn’t an achievement at all! Its an Insult! You get this after dying 10 times in a single mission.

War Hero - 40 points

Complete the game on any difficulty. (Solo only)

Hardened War Hero - 100 points

Complete the game on Hardened or Veteran difficulty. (Solo only)

Get Your Left Foot Wet - 30 points

Complete a match in Campaign Co-Op mode over Xbox LIVE. (Online co-op only)

Get Your Right Foot Wet - 30 points

Complete a match in Competitive Co-Op mode over Xbox LIVE. (Online co-op only)

Blue Ribbon - 25 points

Complete a 4-player Competitive Co-Op match in 1st place over Xbox LIVE. (Online co-op only)

Just kill as many enemies as possible to get points. Also try to keep your multiplier and try to do the objectives. They give you a lot of points.
