DefaultMini Ninjas

Estimated achievement difficulty - 5/10
Offline achievements: 35
Online achievements: None
Approx. time to get 1000: 10 - 15 hours (more if glitched)
Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1(could be more)
Glitched achievements: Yes. See below
Cheats : No Cheats

This game is easy enough except for a few glitched achievements and an annoying collectible save glitch. The glitched achievements are in the guide and the reason why this game is 5/10 because of the repeated plays and frustration needed to get them to unlock.

You need to play the game on Hard from the start or the achievement for completing the game on Hard (Hard Little Ninja -100G) may not unlock. Several people including myself have been unable to unlock it via level select although some people have. Best to start the game on Hard just to be safe as Hard is not really that hard, and the difficulties stack.

Some people have also been unable to unlock collecting all the animals achievement, even after thoroughly go through the levels again. This is because the game, needlessly I might add, over-writes your previous collection save and re-sets after replaying a level. This only occurs with animals and not with other collectibles which is why it is annoying. The game may indicate you have all the animals, however the level may have been reset and there's no way of knowing.

How do you avoid the above? DO NOT replay a level before finishing the game. If you have, then the only way, as advised to me at Mini Ninja Forums, is to delete your game save from your profile and start again.

All the other achievements however are quite easy and even the bosses are not hard to defeat. My other advice is to smash and collect everything you see. At the end of each level, the game gives you a choice to continue or end the level. Make sure you have everything before moving on, just DO NOT replay a level before beating the game.

ACHIEVEMENT GUIDE

Off You Go - 20 points
Completed basic training

Story related and cannot miss. You will get this after talking to the Grand Master and exiting Ninja Village.

Found Futo - 10 points
Find Futo

Story related and cannot be missed. You will need to find him as part of the quest to leave Ninja Mountain (Level 1). Just follow the apple trail from the Temple. See Lost and Found Achievement.

Found Suzume - 10 points
Find and free Suzume

Story related. Suzume is found on "Leaving Home" (Level 2) after the third checkpoint. See Lost and Found Achievement.

Found Shun - 10 points
Find and free Shun

Story related. Shun is found on "A Distress Signal" (Level 6) in the caves. Take the left path over a bridge and he is guarded by some Samurais. See Lost and Found Achievement.

Found Tora - 10 points
Find and free Tora

Story related. Tora is found on "Grassy Hills" (Level 10) on the left path towards a burnt out camp. See Lost and Found Achievement.

Found Kunoichi - 10 points
Find and free Kunoichi

Story related. Kunoichi is found on "Winter Range" (Level 14) after the third checkpoint. See Lost and Found Achievement.

Lost and Found - 20 points
Retrieve all five missing ninja

Story related. You can miss these although if you have not unlocked this achievement after Kunoichi on "Winter Range", then push LB to see which ones you have missed.

All these Ninjas (except Futo) are surrounded by Samurais so they are pretty hard not to miss.

Off The Richter Scale - 30 points
Defeat Boss Lumbering Fool

This will be your first boss fight (Level 4) As soon as the fight begins, run to a corner of the room and get behind a pillar. The boss will then take a swing at you and his sword will get stuck in the pillar. Jump up onto the sword which will then trigger a quick time button event and it will take a third off his health. Rinse and repeat another two times and achievement unlocked.

Smell You Later - 30 points
Defeat Boss Windy Pants

You will encounter this boss on Level 9 after Night Castle Level.

This boss attacks you with fart clouds. When he sends multiple fart clouds, just dodge them until he sends out a single cloud. As soon as you see a single cloud, run up to him and attack him from behind for a quick time button sequence. This will take a third of his health. Repeat another two times and you are done.

Tripped and fell - 30 points
Defeat Boss Timid Swimmer

You will encounter this boss on Level 13 after the Water Castle Level. Quite easy to defeat if you know how.

Take the boat to the small stairs in front of you and then go right until you find a red pillar. Stand behind the pillar and the boss will take a swing at you and hit the pillar, that will break off a piece. Stand behind it and it will trigger a quick time button sequence. This will take a third of his health. Go back to the stairs then go right again to find another pillar. Repeat actions to bring on another quick time button sequence. Go back to the stairs and now go left to find another pillar. Again repeat the same action as before and the boss will go down.

Crash landing - 30 points
Defeat Boss Screeching Owl

You will encounter this boss on Level 16 after the Snow Castle Level.

All you have to do is sneak behind him when the boss lands. Run around the temple until you hear him land - he will make a hmm sound - then use Ninja stealth (LT) to sneak up behind him. This will trigger a quick time button sequence and take off a third of his health. Do this three times and he is down.

Restore Balance - 40 points
Defeat the Evil Samurai Warlord

This is the last boss of the game and the final level.

The only way I found to defeat this boss easily is using Meteor Storm. You must have this spell (as it may be difficult using another spell) Make sure you have decent amount of health flasks and a good amount of Strong Ginseng which helps to replenish your Ki energy.

Attack the spinning balls that surround the boss with Meteor Storm. Destroying all the balls will defeat him. Attack any minions if you can as they also replenish you Ki energy and dodge any attacks when he is in the air, as they take a good chunk off your health.

Little Ninja - 50 points
Complete game on easy or medium difficulty

See Hard Little Ninja achievement below.

Hard Little Ninja - 100 points
Complete game on hard difficulty

You need to play the game on Hard from the start or the achievement for completing the game on Hard or this achievement may not unlock. Several people including myself have been unable to unlock it via level select although some people have. Best to start the game on Hard just to be safe as Hard is not really that hard, and the difficulties stack.

If you want to start on Easy or Medium DO NOT replay a level before finishing the game. This will ensure the Hard achievement will not glitch. As a side note, if you play on Hard and you just want the achievement, you can quite easily run past a lot of enemies and end the level.

If the achievement has glitched on you, then the only way, as advised to me at Mini Ninja Forums, is to delete your game save from your profile and start again.

Animal Friend - 100 points
Free all caged animals

You have to free ALL the caged animals on each level. There are 195 animals altogether. They are not hard to find however some may be hiding around corners. Best to do a sweep of each area before moving on. At the end of each level the game will tell you how many you have released and ask if you wish to end the level or continue.

TAKE NOTE : You mush finish the whole game before replaying ANY level or this achievement WILL glitch. If you press continue and look for any you missed, this is OK, as long you DO NOT replay the level.

You can also take note which level you missed animals and move on with the game and return after you finished the game.

My achievement glitched and the only way to get it if it has, is to delete your save profile from Xbox 360 Memory and start again.

Tree Hugger - 10 points
Shake 15 trees

You need to shake fifteen fruit trees by pressing A and have the fruit fall off. They have to be fifteen separate trees and bushes do not count. There's plenty of trees so you would probably unlock this after the first couple of levels.

Sage of Philosophy - 50 points
Reach level cap

You need to reach Level 15. Pretty hard not to miss and should naturally come if you defeat every enemy and free all caged animals.

Avalanche - 10 points
Defeat an enemy as a snowball

The easiest level to do this is Snow Canyon (Level 17) or The Big Jump (Level 19).

To turn into a snowball jump on you hat and start sliding down the mountain. When the game prompts to press A repeatedly, DON'T. You will turn into a snowball and you only have to hit one enemy.

Smooth Sailing - 10 points
Flawless Great River Canyon rafting

This sounds hard but with a little patience it is quite easy. There are two sets of rapids on the the Great River Canyon level and you need to navigate through without your hat receiving ANY damage. That is the hat on the right of the screen cannot have any RED.

Before the first rapid, there is a checkpoint on the riverside. Activate it so if you take damage, reload the checkpoint. Continually press down on the Left Stick to brake as this reduce the chance of damage and you can skid on top of any rocks as this will not give you damage.

After the first set of rapids there will be an island with a checkpoint on the top. You need to climb to get to it. Do so, as if you make a mistake in the next set, you only have to reload from here.

This should unlock as soon as you reach the bottom lake. Mine glitched a couple of times so be aware.

Bow Before Me - 20 points
Defeat 50 enemies with the bow

Once you unlock Shun use his bow or his red orb attack on 50 enemies. Shun is unlocked in the Level 6 "A Distress Signal"

Stop! Futo Time! - 20 points
Use Futo in combat on all levels

You have to use Futo to defeat at least one enemy on every level. If you use Futo to defeat the large Samurai mini bosses every time, then there are only a few levels to replay if this did not unlock at the end.

Leaving Home
Great River Canyon
A Distress Signal
Flooded Valley
Snowy Canyon

Note : In Ninja Mountain the first level, you should have used Futo for the first time and defeated a Tengu with your hammer. If you changed during the battle, then you will have to replay this level as well.

Eat My Dust - 10 points
Travel far in full gallop

Run with Tora by pressing Y until you Ki energy runs out. Do this roughly about ten times and the achievement should unlock. You unlock Tora on the "Grassy Hills" Level 10.

*
Pied Piper - 10 points
Incite 50 enemies to dance

Run up to a group of enemies with Suzume and press Y. This will entice them in a trance and they start to dance. Don't try and do this with archers around as they stop the dance. Do this to 50 enemies for it to unlock. Suzume is unlocked on the Level 2 "Leaving Home"

Poker - 10 points
Defeat 30 spearmen with the spear

Use Kunoichi and attack with his spear on 30 enemies. You only need to attack by pressing X. Kunoichi is unlocked on Level 14 "Winter Range"

Don't Blame it on the Sunshine - 10 points
Bring sunshine to all denizens of the graveyard

In the level "Haunted Forest" you will unlock the spell "Sunrays" You need to kill ALL the ghosts in the graveyard, around the shrine and including the ones on your way out for it to unlock.

No Conjurer of Cheap Tricks - 20 points
Expend 1500 Ki using Kuji magic

You will get this after using magic energy, Ki. Press RT on a scroll spell to expend magic and you should see a blue bar at the bottom of the screen go down. You can only unlock this using Hiro. 1500 is not a lot and it should come naturally around after the first few levels.

Now You See Me ... - 40 points
Defeat 100 enemies with stealth attack

To use stealth attack , press LT in high grass and you will see a stealth symbol on the right of your screen. Sneak up behind an enemy and press X for a stealth kill. Do this to 100 enemies.

Big Guy - 10 points
Defeat a large one

A Big Guy is the big Samurai mini-bosses and you will encounter your first one on the level "Earth Castle". The easiest way to defeat them is to use Futo. Press X to attack him a few times and you should get a mini quick time event and prompted to press A. Do this three times and the he will go down.

Bear With Me - 10 points
Defeat 10 enemies as the bear

Use the spell Spirit Form on a bear. You will then take control of the bear and press X to attack. This is accumulative thankfully as the spell does not last long. You do not have to kill ten in one attack.

Boardom - 10 points
Defeat 10 enemies as the boar

See Bear With Me achievement above. You need to become a boar instead of a bear.

*
Silent Assas... Ninja - 50 points
Complete a level without being seen

There is really only one level you can achieve this easy and that is in "Great River Canyon" Best to try this AFTER you have beaten the game.

At the start of the level head forward until you reach the waterfall, then jump down. Paddle down the river until you see three waterfalls in the distance. Hug right and head straight to third waterfall (to the right of your screen). You will slightly drift left but there should be series of stepping stones leading to slanted rock next to the waterfall. Jump onto that rock and head forward to a ledge.

Jump up on the ledge, follow it around to another ledge to jump up to. Follow the path until you reach a cave. Follow the path in the cave and you will eventually reach another waterfall with stepping stones. Move forward across the river jumping on the stepping stones, and LEFT on the grassy area towards very edge of top of the original waterfalls. Drop down two ledges while hugging close the wall on your right.

Jump across a gap and the grassy path will narrow. As soon as you hit the grassy go to STEALTH (LT) and move forward. Hug the wall to your right until you reach a Tiger Lily. Jump down into the river on your left (before you jump, look down to make sure you land to the right of row of rocks otherwise you have to start over)

Paddle forward hugging very close to wall on your right until you see the checkpoint save on the other side. Finish the level as normal as there are no more enemies after that save point.

Botanist - 30 points
Collect one of each ingredient

If you collect everything you see like I told you at the beginning of this guide, then you should easily unlock this. They do not all have to be in your inventory at one time.

Anemone
Blue Petal
Oyster Mushroom
Ginseng Root
Spear of Ashida
Tiger Lily
Stone Cap
Burdock Flower
Scared Lotus
Horse Tails
Wild Parsely
Mountain Fire

Completist - 100 points
Collect all Jizo statues

See Collectible Guide below.

Sightseeing - 30 points
Visit all temples

There are seven temples to visit. Below are the levels where they are. You do not need to talk to the Tengu at each temple, just approach them.

Ninja Mountain
Leaving Home
A Distress Signal
Grassy Hills
Flooded Valley
Winter Range
Volcano's Shadow

Tengu Friend - 40 points
Complete all Wandering Tengu quests

Very easily missed and glitchy as well. You have to do this on your first run through just to be safe or may glitch. Make sure you complete the quests before moving on to the next level. There are actually nine Tengu but I unlocked the achievement after doing these six.

Ninja Mountain - This one you cannot miss as it is part of the story. The quest is to find Futo and the Tengu is inside the house after crossing the second bridge.

Leaving Home - The Tengu is right at the beginning of the level and he will ask you to kill the samurai on the other side of the bridge.

Leaving Home - The Tengu will be by the entrance to the Temple under a stone arch and he will ask you to retrieve a Burdock Flower. There is one on the path to the temple. It will be on the right next to some lion statues.

Haunted Forest - At the start of the level after clearing the rocks, the Tengu is on your left. He will ask you to retrieve a Ashida Spear. There is one on a ledge right above the Tengu next to a tree.

Flooded Valley - At the start of the Level, there is a Tengu who will ask you to find his uncle. The uncle is located at the Temple which can be found on the far right of the map by paddling in your hat. I think this is glitched as the Tengu never appeared again on subsequent playthroughs.

Winter Range - Head forward at the start of the level until you reach a path. Follow the path and don't mind the fork in the path as either way is OK, and eventually you will come across the Tengu at the end of the fork. He needs some Tiger Lily. You should have a few on you as if you have been collecting everything right? Give him one.

4. When you reach the enemy camp, behind one of the tents.
5. After the camp , cross the water and it will be in middle of some fruit trees.

6. After the first set of rapids climb up an island to reach a checkpoint. Cross the log and follow path to the shrine. Continue forward and there will a another area with the shrine.
